    perfect for city walks and famous sights

    During my recent stay, I was really impressed by how close we were to attractions like the fine Estufa Fria, less than a 10-minute walk away and perfect, combined with the beautiful surroundings of Avenida da Liberdade, a lush and inviting street brimming with shops and cafes, made every morning good.

    Its location is magnificent, so close to the financial / business area as well as many restaurants and attractions. The hotel provides a good hot and rich breakfast with pastries and eggs cooked to order and again.

    The Hotel was lovely to stay in, all the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Restaurant at top lovely especially the 'duck'. Pool excellent and much needed in the city.

    The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and the pool area was quite pleasant. We had an excellent dinner in the Olivier Restaurant, where the staff was also very friendly and excellent. And the breakfast buffet was excellent. The free shoeshine service was a nice touch. The hotel is located very close to a Metro stop, which was very convenient for getting around.

    The first room (803) we were given...supposedly an "upgrade"...had a very strong and very unpleasant oder, and a bathroom that wasn't remotely appropriate in decor (very, very plain), facilities (equally plain and ordinary), or amenities to the "collection" (just below suite) room we had booked...much less a supposedly "upgraded" room. When we asked to be moved, we were moved immediately (no hassle at all) to room 811, which was similar to 803, but with a somewhat better bathroom...though still not appropriate for a "deluxe" room. And, the shower controls (ceiling shower, as well as hand-held device) were almost impossible to figure out. Also, almost the entire time we were there, no one was at the concierge desk...so the "service" that the hotel advertises so much was not available. One of the two elevators to our floor was frequently out of order...a minor annoyance.

    First Rooms - leak in the bathroom ceiling) 3 hours tro change room Second Rooms room 110 - door stopper torn and found in teh middel of the room - toilet flush working poorly - sink evacuation not working (can t close it) : not possible to clean the feeding bottles in that bathroom - bathtub evacuation not working - electrical connection not secured - hanger line end reversed (not possible to use the hanging line in taht room) room 112 - bathroom lock broken - no A/C : the baby had to sleep in 110 cliose to the gym where peolple use running mill from 7 am to 10 Pm nobody came when we asked to fix it - tiles off in the bathroom - several stainds on the wall of the room - electrical installation not secure Service - We asked for a thermonmeter for our 4 month daughter, it came after 3 hours whenI went to the reception to ask for it - newspaper: Le Monde received on the first day (Sunday) then nothing until Thursday except 3 copies of Le Figaro - We asked for honey to thereception and received 4 spoons Overall, the place seems to be in very bad condition, even questionable from a safety oint of view the staff though nice is quite useless

    The staff was friendly, location was great, the roof bar had an amasing view.
